A luxury custom home builder, Jada Homes approached me with a re-branding project. The business itself had changed and was re-establishing itself from Arizona to California.
New business cards and new branding on the company truck were already in the works and my client wanted to update the Web site to reflect the marketplace he now found himself in – Silicon Valley. Surrounded by tech savvy clients, it made sense to try and time all the components to go out together. No point in promoting the Web site on the truck if it no longer adequately represented the company.
Before & after
The old site had two separate sections to view their work the Virtual Tour section and the Photo Slideshows. Many of the photos were small for today's screens and the information about the company was out of date.
We took the portfolio of work and updated the look to something more modern. I wanted visitors to be able to start exploring the work from the first moment they came to the site. I didn't want to bury content under the links in the menu. This was also because the content we're talking about is highly visual (pictures of past work) and I felt could draw a visitor deeper into the Web site.
The site was built in Wordpress to make it easier for me to manage new projects being added as we move forward. We have started running tests using Google Experiments to see what works best on keeping people on the site long enough to get a sense of the company and to generate leads. We have some exciting changes planned as we continue to improve the site.
